Since May, Canada’s Chartered Accountants and Canada’s Certified Management Accountants have been listening to and gathering perspectives from members, candidates and registered students about the merits and feasibility of uniting our national and provincial organizations. We have also engaged business and government leaders, the academic community and other stakeholders. The national consultation period is now closed. CA and CMA national, provincial and regional leaders are assessing the feedback collected and a report of the key findings will be shared with members, candidates and registered students in the coming weeks. The report will be posted on www.CPACanada.ca along with the background documents released during the consultation period. Should the leadership of both professions agree to proceed to the next step, CA and CMA national and provincial councils will prepare a concrete proposal for member consideration and support.
